QUESTION:

hi,

How many times should we feed our horse pellets a day? Could you help us out, please?

– Mike and Ed

ANSWER:

Many horse people feed grain once in the evening, simply because it’s convenient. Personally, I like to see the ration split into two doses – one in the morning, one in the evening – because I think the horse will utilize the feed better and it may reduce the possibility of colic (especially in the case of a greedy animal where several horses are being fed at the same trough.
