QUESTION:

How many tickets were sold to Wild Bill Hickock’s first Wild West Show?

— M. S.

ANSWER:

The answer to your question is “zero.”

In the first place, Wild Bill’s actual name was James Butler Hickok (with one “c” — not two).

In the second place, although he performed with Buffalo Bill for seven months in 1873, the show was called “Scouts of the Plains” at that time — not Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.

Therefore, no tickets could have been sold to “Wild Bill Hickock’s first Wild West Show.”
